About Jack Shepherd

I'm a creative entrepreneur, business owner, brand designer and front-end web developer from Toronto, Canada.

I work remotely with businesses worldwide to deliver design and digital solutions.

I’ve co-founded a design agency and created a holding company to form a complementary wheelhouse that supports and grows with the shifting needs of customers.

Growing up, I explored computers and the internet. My focus is front-end web development with expertise in making well-designed and functional WordPress websites.

I continue to learn and push the boundaries of combining art, design and business innovation online.

As a leader in design management, I have spearheaded comprehensive branding, design and website projects for clients globally.

I work closely with startups, local businesses and publicly traded corporations. Coordinating with teams, individuals and clients.

No stranger to rolling up my sleeves, I’m comfortable handling everything from research, concepts, strategy and direction to production.

Whether it’s your local mom-and-pop shop or a large-scale enterprise, I will deliver the same high-expectation level of work, seeing your project through to launch and beyond with particular attention to detail.

My digital journey started in the early days of the web.

I was building HTML websites from scratch and making fan pages on GeoCities. From there, I was the Photoshop wizard in my Yearbook class in high school and made abstract desktop wallpapers for fun.

I always drew and painted; comic books and video game culture heavily influenced me.

In college, I completed a BAA in Illustration. An internship led to a mentorship, position and eventual business partnership with Paul Phillips, who inspired me to put my creativity to work in practical ways.

Earning a living as a graphic and web designer led me to discover the possibilities of WordPress as a content management system. Challenging myself to customize open-source software in ways that push the boundaries of expectation.

I’m a no-code advocate and believe any tools that empower creators to get up and running sooner rather than later are a net positive.

As a front-end web designer and developer in WordPress, I deliver a complete website end-to-end following best practices, fully optimized and delivered for successful launches competing with the best of them.

I’ve worked with various local clients throughout Canada, the USA, the UK, Europe, and Australia.

When not creating, I spend most of my spare time with my life partner, a talented toy designer and our daughter in Toronto.

I fully embrace the remote work lifestyle.

I’m currently finding time wherever I can for creating, including experimenting with digital art and exploring blockchain technology.

On a continual path of learning and developing my art, I’ve rediscovered my passion for illustration and am pushing myself to make a body of work I can be proud of.

When I’m not running my business, I am helping brands launch their services/products and connecting with like-minded folks on the internet to discuss ideas that challenge my perspective.

I also enjoy writing and creating insightful, helpful content for people at various career stages.

Anyone who knows me understands that I continue pursuing knowledge, seeking inspiration, and appreciating fine coffee, beer, and basketball.

Nothing is better than getting out into the woods for a walk or getaway. I don’t get out much, but I enjoy travelling and seeing new cultures and cities that inspire me.
