Launched November 5th, 2022. Mad Masks is a fully on-chain (images stored as data on the blockchain) collection of 1024 generated pixel art pieces based on a parallel-universe story of 12 unique characters.
The bold “m” logo focuses on combining pixels in a way that represents the collection, reflective of the art style.
Each pixel represents the 12 unique mask characters that come together to form the complete silhouette.
To complete the universe, lore and a pixel-based language were created to ensure continuity, bringing the story to life.
Several extensions were created, including art canvas prints, stickers and hats, available for fans who wanted them.
Spinoffs were created, including DOS Masks (Base), Masked Monkes (BTC Ordinals), and an honorary collection that pays homage to creators and community members who helped inspire.
As a follow-up sister collection, Micro Masks (half the size of Mad Masks) was minted fully on-chain as 512 tokens, featuring 1/1 artwork by 14 guest artists. It includes 32 masks and some of the art is animated.
